Elderly Program In Rovno

The Elderly Program is very much appreciated by many in Eastern Europe.  We have had this ministry for many years. At first glance, it seems like an ordinary outreach program: five days a week a meal is cooked for lonely, old and sick people. However, every time Yevgeniya Lasarenko (who is in charge of this ministry) comes to these people with a freshly-cooked meal, she is convinced again of how important this ministry is for them. The recipients always express deep gratitude. They also look forward to being able to share their worries, anxieties and joys. It is essential for them to not only receive food, but to also get spiritual support and encouragement. Here are some letters from the elderly who get meals through this program.

Galina Mironets (born in 1938) & Anna Oliferchuk (born in 1945)

We are lonely pensioners and we thank you very much for the food. It is a great support for us. We get small pensions, and without you, we would not be able to have lunch every day. May God bless you in this ministry.

Valentina Teslya (born in 1935)

I am a bed patient for 5 years, so I cannot cook meals for myself. I am really thankful to all the people who donate their money, and give their time for me to have food every day. Thank you and may God bless you.

Valentina Nesterova (born in 1945)

It has happened that I am lonely in my old age and suffer from many diseases (pancreatic diabetes, hypertension and my feet failed under me – so I am in a wheelchair). I can’t take a good care of myself. But thanks God I have kind people to take care of me and to help me. Thank you very much for your help and support.

Nadezhda Romanyuk (born in 1927)

I would like to thank all the good people who donate their money and help to cook meals for lonely people, like myself.  I get a small pension and that is why your help is essential for me. I appreciate your attention towards me. May God bless you and give you everything you need. May He bless you with good health to continue this good work for lonely and forsaken people.

Anastasiya Danilenko (born in 1933)

I would like to thank you very much. You are very kind people. Thanks that you do not forsake me and take care of me. We really need your kindness and love. I am a sickly person so I cannot cook every day. Please, don’t forget about me and keep your great ministry. May God bless you.

As you can see there is no lack of thankfulness for those who urgently need our help.
